Overflowing toys

Are you all finding that as time passes, your house is getting more and more cluttered with toys? I have given away quite a few, but the ones remaining (especially for infants) I am hanging onto in case we try for #2. But how long do you hang onto something when space is starting to become an issue? Do you have some manageable way to contain the toys?

I actually regret selling all my baby stuff because we are in the process of trying for another.. =(

I didn't think we were going to have another, so I decided to give them away or sell them off.

If you know you are planning on #2 or more, I would suggest trying to keep the stuff you need (i.e. crib, excersaucer, change table etc...).

Unfortunately I don't have any friends whom had a baby recently or has a child old enough to let me borrow some baby stuff =(...

I have the same issue! toys all over the floor, couch, bed, etc. I have many organizers but just too lazy to even pick them up! My 2 yo Lexa will "help" clean up if she's in the mood, that's once a week. Whenever I don't feel lazy, I found that IKEA's mesh toy organizers are perfect, looks cute in the room and I can just dump lots of toys in it and put the lid on. Here's the link http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15567&catalogId=10103&storeId=12&productId=71721&langId=-1&categoryId=16260&chosenPartNumber=10098505
They have 2 cute colors and I got both at home, along with other organizers like that from IKEA. If the link doesn't show up, just search for "Korall Fisk" on Ikea's website. It made a big difference for me whenever there's visitors and we can quickly "clean up" in 2 minutes :)
About keeping toys, well, if space isn't an issue, I'd keep all of them as long as I could!

Do you have family or friends who live nearby that have extra space? We're living with my parents for the time being and most of our stuff is in storage in their basement.

I've found that rotating toys actually works out nicely.

Basically, you pull out some of the toys the kids aren't even playing with (but you couldn't bare to part with for whatever reason) and store them in a closet, the garage, etc. If there's tons of toys in the toybox, the kids won't even miss them anyway.

Then, after a few weeks or even longer, take out some more toys from the toybox and replace them with the ones you had stored. It's like introducing new toys every few weeks--without having to buy them.

As for the bigger baby toys...I'd still hold on to them if planning for another. It can take up lots of space, but will save you $$$ when you need them later.
